For those interested in either joining the DAR, SAR, or some similar group or adding a patriot if you are a member, this may be helpful. The following lines are proved ones for DAR patriots - although obviously you have to document them yourself - Abraham WOMACK Francis COLEMAN SR Drury ROGERS Jacob LEWIS Jonathan SMITH (who you ask is this? He's an ancestor of Otis and Martha Smith, who married 2 of Sherwood Womack's kids) Of these, to the best of my knowledge, you'd have to prove out the Drury Rogers line, as they do not have a descendant listed for Sarah Rogers Womack - if you desperately needed that info, it's easily obtained from her parent's probate files. I am not a DAR member. For those of you DARing, I now have copies (as opposed to abstracts and transcriptions) of Abraham Womack's will, Sherwood Womack's will, and I have the pages from the estates of Drury Rogers and Tabitha Rogers needed to show that connection for Sarah Rogers Womack. I can probably point you at the data you need for Jacob Lewis and Francis Coleman - check their pages on this site. For those of you reading this who are related to me on the Daniel/McDonald side of the family - the William Daniel line that was used in the past for the DANIEL family has been DISPROVED. You cannot join using the data given by previous members. The William Daniel that was used in those earlier filings was NOT our guy. |
